Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling can be used to inspire change or improve quality of life. Goals may be defined to help you overcome obstacles to reach your desired outcome. Counseling can be helpful if you are feeling unhappy, overwhelmed, or wanting help to make lifestyle changes. 

Behavioral Activation for Depression

Behavioral activation focuses on using behaviors to activate pleasant emotions. People who are depressed tend to do less overall and have fewer opportunities to feel pleasure. BA focuses on breaking the cycle of inactivity that in turn has shown to reduce depressive symptoms. 

Stress Management

Long term stress can lead to many health issues, such as hypertension, heart attack, or stroke. With stress management, various techniques are utilized with the aim at controlling and reducing a person's stress level. Psychotherapy, mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, and guided imagery can be utilized.

CBT for Later - Life Depression

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Later- Life Depression is a personalized treatment for individuals in the second half of life who are experiencing clinical or subclinical depression, with or without accompanying anxiety. This modality addresses common concerns of middle aged and older adults such as changes in brain health, chronic pain, sleep problems, experiences of loss, family and caregiving issues.

Meaning Centered Psychotherapy

Originally created for people with advanced stage cancer, this modality includes therapeutic approaches designed to enhance meaning, spiritual well-being, and quality of life. Meaning Centered Psychotherapy aims to decrease feelings of sadness and increase hope, focusing on creating, experiencing, and keeping a sense of meaning in life. MCP is meant to help a person look for meaning in their past, present, future and everyday life through teaching, answering questions together, doing homework assignments, and psychotherapy. MCP is often done in 7-8 sessions but that may change based on need and availability.

Grief Counseling & Grief Therapy

Grief is the emotional response to a loss. Grief counseling can be beneficial to those grieving the loss of a loved one, including pets. Losses can also include psychological loss that affects our sense of security, identity, hope for the future, and overall well-being. Examples include loss of employment, transition to retirement, loss of a home, infertility, losses due to chronic illness and medical treatments, losses due to physical limitations, such as a sports injury or loss of a limb.

Somatic Psychotherapy

Soma means the body. Psyche means the mind. Somatic Psychotherapy is the study of the body-mind interface. A person’s thoughts, feelings, sensations, attitude and belief systems all have an impact on the physical well-being of a person. Somatic Psychotherapy utilizes mindfulness, body awareness, breathwork and awareness, and body-oriented tools to guide the client to regulate themselves.

Illness Adjustment Counseling

Illness Adjustment Counseling is useful for those who are coping with a chronic illness, such as cancer, diabetes, COPD, Parkinson’s, or heart disease, to name a few.  The focus will be on coping with the chronic illness, lifestyle changes to live a meaningful and healthy life, while processing the impact of the disease on quality of life.

Psychodynamic Psychoanalysis

Psychodynamic therapy is beneficial for those wanting to understand how your current feelings and behaviors are shaped by your past experiences and your unconscious mind and impulses. The therapeutic relationship is key to this approach, therefore, a commitment to therapy and the therapeutic process is necessary.

CBT for Insomnia

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia is a 7-10 week program utilizing non-pharmacological interventions to address insomnia.

CBT for Chronic Pain

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain is a 10-15 week program utilizing non-pharmacological interventions to learn to cope and manage chronic pain.

Adjustment Counseling

Changes in life can bring about coping difficulties, even if it is a positive change! Adjustment counseling focuses on coping and adapting to life changes, such as going to college, starting or changing careers, preparing or adjusting to retirement, living in a new city or country, newly divorced (or even newly married!), or any other life changes that one experiences.
